Is there any timeline of when this will be fixed?
It's really annoying for users like me who are forced to work with vpnc connections.

(And yes I know I can work around this issue with directly starting the connection via CLI and vpnc)

Also if you add the connection via another workaround - it will not be displayed. So the networkmanager is not usable for vpnc connections at all.
