DKMS builds for 5.4 kernels on bionic won't work with 5.4 kernel from focal, unless the toolchain is updated, as there is a new gcc feature used when building such kernel. A future 5.4 kernel backported to bionic will not use that feature and, then, dkms packages will build just fine for that.

The fix here was a fix for focal that was backported to bionic in advance as we want to upload a 5.4 kernel to bionic RSN.
