Hi,
I had tried many times to make (Akhbar-MT) font subtitle work in smplayer all version after 0.6.4 but I couldn't. There is two Arabic encoding: cp-1256 and ISO-8859-6. Linux and Microsoft fonts work on cp-1256 fine but not work on iso-8859-6 encoding. The Akhbar-MT and alot of Arabic fonts did not work on ubuntu: open office and video players on both encoding.
I think ubuntu does not support font that made on Macintosh.
