I ran into this problem today simply installing 1.4 beta into a new directory
not changing anything.
I use multiple mail accounts and IMAP; also I'm still able to get messages.
It doesn't matter what method I use to try to compose a message (keyboard
shortcut, web link, button).
I'm a non-tech :-( - so I now try to install 1.3.1 to fix.
