That's odd, your dmesg doesn't show any attempt to resume. Mine looks like this:

[ 3.002362] PM: Starting manual resume from disk
[ 3.002365] PM: Resume from partition 8:5
[ 3.002367] PM: Checking hibernation image.
[ 3.002560] PM: Resume from disk failed.

(that's normal when the system wasn't hibernated)

Are you using any kind of custom kernel or initramfs on this system?
