I believe this - very very bad problem - also happens in karmic according to a poster above.
I'm beginning to think that the blocked task is not the "cause" but the "effect" of this problem.
In other words, perhaps the scheduler or something in the kernel is foobar and it thus results
in a task or more becoming blocked indefinitely.
