Also, I was in the midst of transferring to a bigger hard drive, so I'm sure it was at 2.6.22-14 before I updated to 2.6.24-19. Tried it before and after this bug was closed.

Before: Copied entire hard drive, booted and attempted to upgrade from 7.10 (2.6.22-14) to Hardy with the Update Manager. It hangs on localedef

After: Upgrade of latest kernel (8/28/2008) and repeated the transfer. No problems at all.
