Hi, i did a complete new installation with the ubuntu 18.04.1 iso and the touchpad was always working after suspend/resume only the trackpoints gets lost. Does it make a difference if s3 is available during installation?
The only modification i had to do was to remove the blacklist of i2c_i801 in /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf otherwise my touchpad and the trackpoint are only working
sporadically and dmesg is full of:
...

...
1. remaining issue: tap to click is not working -> fixed by upgrading libinput
2. remaining issue: my trackpoint sometimes does not survive suspend. After an subsequent suspend/resume, it is added again and is useable again. In dmesg i can see that the kernel is adding it:
[ 8292.603632] PM: suspend exit
[ 8292.696364] psmouse serio2: trackpoint: Elan TrackPoint firmware: 0x04, buttons: 3/3

The full dmesg is appended. I don't use the trackpoint so that is not a real issue for me.
