I spoke too soon. Deep sleep works now, and the touchpad keeps working, but only - even with the new motherboard - if I keep the NFC *enabled* in the BIOS. And the trackpoint does not work under Linux. At all. At any time (at least on my distro) and even with a very recent kernel.
