I've verified that I do indeed have version 1.3 of the touchpad software installed (and I am horrified but not surprised that Lenovo managed to get a bug into their firmware updater).
I have looked at the Windows event log and the only repeated errors I see have to do with 'DistributedCom' (and those errors are common in Windows land) and dotnet.
