I had the same problem. I disabled power-save like korgman (korgie) wrote.
look, if power-save is enabled...
-> $ iw dev wlan0 get power_save
if yes, do this...
-> $ iw dev wlan0 set power_save off
Buf if there will be a new kernel (I guess), you have to repeat this.
(my laptop ist a x60 lenovo with kernel 4.4.0-97-generic i686 running on Ubuntu 16.04.3 LTS)
