Same problem with a Dell Latitude d820, with ipw3945-wireless.
When booting with hardware switch "on" network interface is recognized, and if I kill the wireless Nm-applet displays the "no signal" icon.
After I reset the switch it doesn't do anything.
I had never some random disconnections
After resuming from hibernation with kill-switch on (wireless off)
a reboot is required to make the interface work again.
Please increase bug priority, this problem is a showstopper.
