I strongly suspect there is a hardware issue with the Aspire One rather than a software one, my Aspire one is often up for days then the wifi stops working and after several attempts the only thing thats worked was to power down and remove the battery. The hardware literally disappears from the system. I seem to experience this problem when the Aspire One has been left on a soft surface like a bed or a chair so maybe i'm not allowing it enough ventilation, however the system didn't seem particularly warm.
This is on ubuntu hardy, there are a lot of reports with wireless quitting on windows too. Acer built down to a price and maybe this is the cost.
