Comment 42 for bug 190934

Adding a keyboard layout seems to fix it as well as changing the layout. (ie just add and remove a random keyboard layout to fix it).

I find that often when the modifiers are lost, some applications (gedit, gnome-keyboard-properties are two examples) will segfault when you try to type a key.
