Sound now tested and works fine (with -soundhw sb16). In the guest, need to:

1. add to /etc/modules:
snd-sb16

2. added /etc/modprobe.d/snd-sb16:
options snd-sb16 isapnp=0

3. then make sure that /dev/dsp is not being used (killall pulseaudio) and reboot.
