Sorry, but Alt + F2 does not work. Just messages about additional crashes (krunner if I remember correctly).
I might however have found another way. I burned a DVD from the ISO and tried to start Kubuntu. It did not work either, but there are some messages on the screen that might/might not be useful, see the attached image. I will try some more experiments to retrieve more information and I am open to suggestions.
