I currently have no desktop other than conjuring one up via ctrl alt F1 and running xinit as root. This is very unsat. At this time I am in a
GUI I conjured via startx running as user.
Numerous kernel programs are failin and reporting as bugs
This all started when I upgraded from KXStudio Ubuntu 14.04
to Kubuntu 16.04. Near the end of the irreversable process,
The installation crashed and reported I have an unstable system (like yuk!)
Since then I did a rescue load and then all the upgrading/re-installing
I could figure out. The GUI continues to report:
/scripts/init-premount/plymouth: line 38: /sbin/plymouthd: not found
etc. Numerous bugs are reported on this. I have tried many of the non-destructive solution,
none have worked.
