Kino does allow the choice between raw1394 and dv1394.

OK, so it's not a perfect solution and there is no /dev/dv1394 as far as I can tell... so I get no joy from dv1394

Running as root I get
>> Starting Capture
>>> Using dv1394 capture
 dv1394 open: No such file or directory

Running as user I get the same after a bunch of other errors about "The IEEE subsystem is not responding"

What's our next move?
