I agree with having the option to always see the laptop battery status in the notifications area, and having all other present batteries shown in the dropdown menu. Even when the laptop battery is fully charged, somebody (like me) could have a flaky AC connection and not see the battery status change because the mouse battery is being shown instead of the laptop battery.
