Jumping on comment earlier about 30_os-prober I as root edited /etc/grub.d/30_os-prober line #37 to set timeout=0
Hope this doesn't break anything. So far it worked, though I haven't tried a positive value with this hack.
Just did an edit to /etc/default/grub increasing timeout GRUB_TIMEOUT=2, reboot and it worked.
Why was this little trap put here? Sets timeout of zero to ten.
