here is a dell optiplex 3240.
And a fresh install of Ubuntu 22.04 LTS.
Double click on an icon does not open the file. Right click on an icon → open → does not work either.
But… right click → open with another application → works.
Tested on Xorg and Wayland, same behaviour.
