When I launch Gnome-screenshot, either by the menu or by hitting PrintScreen key, I can save the output file only in PNG format. There should be an option for saving such files as JPEG.
In fact, I believe JPEG should be the default format for saving screenshots in that program, as they take less space on the disk, are easier to upload to a site and download from one. For instance, now I have to make a screenshot, navigate to the folder where it has been saved, open the file in Eye of Gnome and save it there as JPEG before sending it to a friend.
Even if JPEG won't be the default file format in gnome-screenshot, I would be delighted if it could save pictures in JPEG.
My bug at "100 paper cuts" was triaged as invalid, so I'll post here.
