ok this is seriously fucked up.

I just plugged in an old ps2 keyboard. i pressed the numlock key(on the ps2) and now both numpads work.

This is a clean install. I will restart and report back. tomarrow but.......

apparently plugging in an old ps2 keyboard and pressing numlock key will restore usb keyboard functionality.
