I offer my apologies, I didn't verify this behavior under Ubuntu Classic, so I assumed it was always the case that you couldn't right-click on an entry.
I traced the fault to firefox-globalmenu, which is an add-on for Firefox which enables "global menu" integration; that is, making the Firefox menu bar appear on the top panel.
To reproduce, on a stock Ubuntu Natty installation:
1- Launch Firefox and go to the top panel to show the menus.
2- Right-click on any bookmark in the Bookmarks menu.
Desired behavior:
- A menu with options for the selected bookmark
Actual behavior:
- As if one had left-clicked on the entry, the browser starts loading it.
To obtain the desired behavior, disable the addon going to Tools -> Addons and clicking the "Disable" button under "Global Menu Bar Integration". However this, of course, disables the global menu bar on Firefox.
I'll mark this confirmed again (I was able to replicate the behavior) and setting importance to Medium as it has a "moderate impact on a core application". I'm also updating the description to mention firefox-globalmenu.

Thanks again and sorry for the confusion!
