Note that for the previous comment, all percentages are percentages of the full 100% CPU used by all processes.
Some low-hanging fruit *might* be for pango to cache the results of FcFontSort. But there's been some discussion about this upstream without any progress yet AFAICS, so it might be more involved than that.
