Maybe I first noticed the change by some update after which update-mime-database was called. A search on internet learned that the order of this cache file is randomly generated, although I understand it is not called directly. So I would say the problem has been there dormant and showed up after my cache was rebuilt. On thunderbird I noticed it before after a distro upgrade, possibly because chromium was now included in the opensuse build, which also resulted in a different cache. Just coincidence that I only discovered it now.
