What is clear, and what I *think* Neil's patch does (if I'm reading comment 53 correctly) is say that hitting ENTER uses what's in the text field, not what's selected in the autocomplete dropdown. In the case where I use the keyboard to move between those entries, that also changes what's the the text field, so hitting ENTER will work as expected.
