I've got the same issue with my HD3450 AGP with an Athlon XP 2400+ (2.0 GHz) / nForce2 motherboard (2 GB DDR) and Ubuntustudio 12.04 (32 bits) installed.
I first tried to install AMD/ATI proprietary driver with the GUI driver installer but the system failed to start Xorg after reboot.
In command line, I removed all installed fglrx packages and I tried to manually install packages fglrx and fglrx-amdcccle with apt-get, I created a xorg.conf file using "aticonfig --initial" and ... no result -> Xorg crashes with "Illegal instruction at address (never twice the same address!)".
I also tried to install packages fglrx-updates and fglrx-amdcccle-updates: still no result -> Xorg crashes again.

Is this bug fixed?
