I have a Epson Photo R200 and get the symptoms as the users in the comments above.

/var/log/cups/error.log says
E [12/May/2006:16:54:42 +0200] Creating missing directory "/var/run/cups/certs"
E [12/May/2006:16:56:32 +0200] CUPS-Add-Modify-Printer: Unauthorized

on the command line it says:
lp: Destination "tp0" is not accepting jobs.
