While I don't have an encrypted partition, I however encountered the issue that blkid reports an ambivalent filesystem signature on my root partition, which suddenly makes udev skip detection of this partition and, as a result, fail to reboot. Trying to run Antti's script, it reports having found two signatures (vfat and ext3). ext3 is the only one that should exist, however, asking the script to remove the vfat signature reports "Don't know what to do with signature 'vfat' Refusing to continue". Any solution?
