I would like to add that my exploration showed when I unchecked every item from a list, some would still show up in the netbooklauncher and the gap issue would go away.

Doing a mixed test of half checked and half unchecked, I noticed that for some particular icons they would appear in the netbooklauncher regardless of if they were checked, where as some icons would disappear once unchecked.
