Does not look like a hardware issue with my Toshiba Satellite L750-129. I have Windows 7 in dual-boot with OpenSuSe 13.2 and speakers do ALWAYS work on Windows 7, and do not work on OpenSuSe. Claims about overheating do not explain this.
Moreover my colleague has Satellite L755 with same Win7/OpenSuSe13.2 configuration and experiences exactly same problems.
