Comment 39 for bug 103148

it's a pity, but I've got the same problem in 7.10.
It seemed, that it was happened when I change my usplash
sudo update-alternatives --config usplash-artwork.so
sudo update-initramfs -u
I haven't ever seen some solution of this problem.
ps Have a big desire to return in stable debian, :(
