Comment 2 for bug 1207772

The calendar app appears to list 'Birthdays & Anniversaries' as a calendar, which makes it more confusing and inconsistent while birthdays are still not exposed. If this is not going to be ready soon, then the calendar app should probably not show that calendar for the time being.
