Jamie, the problem is QStandardPaths::CacheLocation returns @{HOME}/.cache/Qt Project/QtQmlViewer. It looks like the branch proposed for ubuntu-ui-toolkit will solve this.
It would be nice if there was an API for getting APP_PKGNAME and other attributes that are defined in click packages. I've been having to jump through hoops to get that kind of information, even calling the GetConnectionAppArmorSecurityContext over dbus to get the profile name. Perhaps the SDK could expose these useful variables?
