I always thought that GUI (graphical user interface) based user and group management tools are basics of a GUI based desktop operating system, and should be included in almost every desktop operating system without requiring additional installation. Am I right?

But, after I did a clean install of Ubuntu MATE 22.04 LTS, I found that there is no GUI based users and groups management tool available for me to create users. I found that I need to install a package named "gnome-system-tools" to make the "users and groups" appear in control center and application menu.

I am sorry to say, I feel that this is unbelievable.

I do not understand why GUI based users and groups management tools are not installed in default installation of Ubuntu MATE 22.04.

Lets assume, a normal non-technical computer user, with no knowledge of terminal commands, want to create user accounts for his/her family members, found no GUI tools to manage users, how will he/she feels?

I hope that the developers of Ubuntu MATE will look into this issue, and include GUI based users and groups management tools in default installation of Ubuntu MATE.
