My two pennies ...
I really would like to see a "switch format" button. In the following way:
- If the mail is plain text, reply/forward would open a plain text editor. A switch is present which lets me change to HTML editing. The text already present is a simple paragraph in the resulting mail.
- If the mail is HTML, reply/forward would open a HTML editor. THe switch wouzld let me change to plain text. _All_ HTML coding information besides line breaks and paragraphs would be lost. Switching back to HTML would _not_ get me back to the original format.
- A new mail is always opened in the users default setting. Switching between format is handled like above.
