synaptic quick search behaviour

i can confirm that

I tried on my ubuntu intrepid alpha 6 :
splas returns 18 items
splash returns 19 items

Synaptic 0.62.1ubuntu9

I've found another buggy behaviour of Quick Search in Synaptic. Suppose you type: k3b and several packages are shown below. You click on one of those packages that are already installed in your system.

If you later come back to the Quick Search box, highlight the k3b text and press delete (in order to delete the text and make another search), while the focus and the cursor are obviously on the Quick Search box, the package you had clicked in the list below will receive the "delete" keypress and be marked for removal.

I guess this bug has been fixed as I have tried and it worked fine with the latest version.

I tested the bug on 2 computers both running ubuntu 8.10, synaptic 0.62.1ubuntu10.
The count of results decreases on both computers but on a comp with slovak localisation I get
"splas" - 18 results
"splash" - 18 results as well but the results differ a bit. Furthermore "lilo-doc" is among the results although there is no such string in the slovak description at all

On a comp with no localisation (untouched english) I get:
"splas" - 20 results
"splash" - 19 results. Only the package "feisty-session-splashes" disappears. I think the quick search considers whole words or something but I find it only confusing...

and remains 2 till splashscreen.

I can confirm that in Lucid (synaptic 0.63.1) the behaviour of the quick search is now as expected.

In natty (0.75.1ubuntu2) the incorrect behaviour has returned
