Dimitri, isn't this what ./live-build/ubuntu-server/includes.binary/overlay/lib/systemd/system/serial-subiquity@.service + ./live-build/ubuntu-server/includes.binary/overlay/lib/systemd/system/serial-getty@.service.d/subiquity-serial.conf is already supposed to do? Michael reported that this was previously working. What "broken" kernel commandline, specifically, was being used; and what is a correct kernel commandline that is not working?

If there has been a regression in subiquity wrt serial console support, please file a separate bug report for that so that we can keep this bug focused on the question of serial console integration from bootloader on.
