Sad to see this restriction on snaps.

One other work around is to maintain an alias list. I actually only use one snap (now), and I so I have:

alias yakyak=/snap/yakyak/current/yakyak/yakyak

but you have to hunt them down, not every snap uses that kind of directory structure. And some snaps maybe a lot more complicated. So this is no fool proof solution, but I only have one snap for now :-)
