Could you please retest that? I have spent several hours on this last night and there are different things going on.

1) When I look at the trash with Dolphin everything seems to be correct. When I move images from Shutter to trash they appear in the trash directory as expected.
2) When I look at the trash plasma widget it does not change it's status when files are moved to trash with Shutter. The same goes for all non-KDE programs as far as I can see (please try EyeofGnome under KDE for example)
3) The files that are trashed with Shutter cannot be restored > this is because Shutter does not implemented the FreeDesktop trash spec, but this is implemented now (available in trunk)
