I can confirm. You have to enable the search bar from "View" menu first. Good catch, thanks!

I have Shotwell 0.13.1-1~precise2 and egtk 3.2-0~r569+pkg289~precise1

Is this a Shotwell bug or due to elementary theming?

Jim, I don't think I have any CSS targeting Shotwell specifically. Is there a class here that I should be theming?

I think I see the problem. Alas, the Shotwell toolbar uses hardcoded colors, not CSS. In order to work on light and dark themes, it determines if the theme is light/dark and uses hardwired colors accordingly.

I suspect what's going on is Shotwell is determining the theme is dark instead of light (or vice-versa) and using inappropriate colors.

I've filed a ticket about this here: http://redmine.yorba.org/issues/6339

Updating the bug status in GTK to reflect Jim's comment. Nothing we can do our side, boys :/
