I have the same problem here with a CentOS 5 (Redhat Clone) running in a VMWare. I cannot connect via SSH between the virtual machine and its host. From the Feisty (Host), I see exactly what is described here, and the session hangs after "debug1: SSH2_MSG_KEXINIT sent" for a long time, and finally times out. None of the workarounds described here helps. In the other direction (initiating the session from the VMWare to the Ubuntu host), it already hangs a couple of lines earlier ("debug1: identity file /home/izzy/.ssh/id_dsa type -1". Any hints where else to look or what to toggle?
Btw: @Lars: Where do you put that "UseDNS no"? If I add that to my ~/.ssh/config, I simply run into an error because of an illegal keyword...
