@grandpied2000 — Thank you! This has fixed my problem, and was such an easy fix.

(Instead of reinstalling OpenShot should this fail, make a backup of the file before editing it. If it doesn't work, simply restore the file from the backup. In my case, though, it worked perfectly first time.)
