Had to remove all of the files from my library and import them again in order to get rid of the duplicates, as I simply had too many tracks to go through and click on the duplicates one by one!

Thanks for the report. I'd like to know the following:

1) Does Noise re-import your entire library as many times as you select "Rescan Music Folder" ?
2) Is your library located on an externally-mounted partition?
3) Could you please attach the entire debug output? Run "noise -d" and try to reproduce the problem.

Changed in noise:
status: New → Incomplete

No, the duplication only happened once, and rescanning again immediately after it happened did not produce duplicates. Nor do duplications occur now, and I can't reproduce the issue. I've tried rescanning with new music in the library and after removing music from the library, but whatever I do, no duplication occurs. It seems to have been an isolated incident.

Directly importing files that are already present in the library does produce duplicates, but I'm certain that the initial issue occurred during a rescan.

The library is located on an NTFS partition of an internal hard drive separate from the one that elementary is running on.

When the duplicates were formed by importing the already present folder, the debug did produce this error:

[_LOG_LEVEL_FATAL 21:22:56.020289] noise_library_manager_add_folder_to_library: assertion `folder != NULL' failed
[_LOG_LEVEL_FATAL 21:22:56.020311] Noise will not function properly.

I'm not sure if it's relevant or not.

I can reproduce this; every time I rescan the library and restart Noise, every track in the library is duplicated.

I have all my music in ~/Music; /home is a separate ext4 partition.
