I should say I am using Ubuntu Lucid with the current version of nautilus elementary from the PPA.

it's not a bug you're using the wrong option (in the tweak panel).

show like breadcrumb must be enabled only if u use a special gtkrc theme for nautilus to show the nice looking breadcrumbs.
without this option the breadcrumb behave exactly like in stock nautilus. so you won't have this problem.

So you're saying if i have the "Show like breadcrumbs" option _disabled_ then this "error" shouldn't occur, right? Well I have this option disabled and it occurs nevertheless. If I, however enable this option, it doesn't occur even without a special gtkrc file.

right i can reproduce it now: show_like_breadcrumb off and path_bar_in_toolbar on
when resizing the pathbar with a lower size the bug append.

it works ok with show_like_breadcrumb on (with or without moded gtk theme).

I realize this is over a year old, but changing the "Show like breadcrumbs (need specific gtkrc theme file)" option under Pathbar in Tweaks in the Preferences to selected does fix this.
