Then the title of the bug report is misleading i guess.
I had set up a new VM and not opened Rhythmbox since. Saw the iTunes entry in the library and thought it has overridden Rhythmbox. Tested with latest r2681- solved. Thanks.
BTW
The context menu to allow selecting of an iTunes database on Win/Mac is rather useful, this way you can also manage different iTunes.db`s .
