FYI: I've been trying to update by downloading the "latest master" build:

mixxx-2.4.0-alpha-pre-master-release-x64-latest.exe

The installer apparently thought that I was installing the same version I currently had because it would ask me to Repair or Uninstall. I decided to try the link:

 mixxx-2.4.0-alpha-pre-master-git7471-release-x64.exe

which did install a later version with the bug fix. Not sure if this means anything, but just to let you know.
