A couple of weeks ago I persuaded a friend with a Windows 8 tablet to install Mixxx. His tablet is multitouch, capacitive, and resistive. It was so exciting, but eventually underwhelming from an active DJ standpoint as I had the visceral realization that I was basically DJing with a single pokey stick. Cmon, guys, I want at least two pokey sticks.
In that post you can see some very affordable multitouch controllers linked by another poster - such devices make this feature relevant even for users who don't have a touchscreen display. Furthermore, we have available the MTMini work of Seth Sandler for building your own multitouch controller out of a webcam and pretty much any properly shaped box, even a cardboard box. Multitouch control devices for anybody who wants them are here.
Lastly, there is a proposed feature already added "Allow keyboard shortcuts to work on multiple controls at once" (https://bugs.launchpad.net/mixxx/+bug/1081137) which is almost the same thing and almost good enough just by itself, but in any case perhaps the two aims will share enough technical components that they could be merged and pursued together.

I posted about this elsewhere last year, actually: http:// mixxx.org/ forums/ viewtopic. php?f=6& t=4088
