Bug Description

The grubaa64.efi supplied with MAAS seems to be affected with LP:1947046 causing boot issues with the recent 5.15 as well as HWE kernels.

Tested and encountered this issue while experimenting with commissioning Raspberry Pi4B on MAAS. Also tested with Impish (5.13) and Groovy (5.8) kernels and they are functioning correctly.

Would be great if we can patch this issue.

Thank you.

From the LP# 1947046

According to http://images.maas.io/ephemeral-v3/

Stable 20221029.0:
❯ strings grubaa64.efi | grep grub.ubuntu
grub.ubuntu,1,Ubuntu,grub2,2.04-1ubuntu47.4,https://www.ubuntu.com/

The candidate 20230111.0:
❯ strings grubaa64.efi | grep grub.ubuntu
grub.ubuntu,1,Ubuntu,grub2,2.04-1ubuntu47.5,https://www.ubuntu.com/

It seems that we need to promote a new candidate for the bootloader

@Alan - Could you please test with the candidate stream? Once it's confirmed that the appropriate fix landed there and works for you, we can promote a new image. Here's how to change the stream: https://maas.io/docs/how-use-standard-images#heading--changing-the-stream
